The City is looking for volunteers to join in a Climate Action day on October 12 from 10 am to 2 pm, which includes a clean-up and beautification at Hiawatha Gardens. Volunteers will focus on cleaning up the area around Hiawatha Gardens, including landscaping and planting trees. The group will meet in front City Hall, 606 Manitou Ave, at 10 am for information and should bring any small garden tools they would like, plenty of water, and a sack lunch. After the tree planting from 5 pm to 7 pm, the City will host a potluck in Memorial Hall celebrating climate action and thanking volunteers for their efforts. It is also an opportunity for local partners and organizations to opportunity reach out to the community.
