On 01/29/2020 Manitou Springs Police Department was notified that 20 year old Lenard Moe was arrested as a result of an investigation of the two Babes Espresso robberies at 2438 E Pikes Peak Avenue.  Moe was a suspect in the Days Inn robbery which occurred on 1/10/2020 in Manitou Springs.  MSPD officers interviewed Moe at CJC and received information connecting him to the robbery.  Officers subsequently added charges of Robbery for Moe in conjunction with the four other cases from CSPD.

We would like to thank CSPD and the citizens that assisted us in this investigation.  With the citizen’s involvement and providing information it expedited the process.  Thanks to CSPD’s hard work and collaboration with our department we were able to make an arrest bringing justice to all of our victims.

Sewer Main Repair 211 Peakview Boulevard 

Thursday, Jan 30, 2020


The City of Manitou Springs will be repairing a collapsed section of sewer main near 211 Peakview Boulevard, on Thursday, January 30, 2020. There are no anticipated sewer service outages with this repair.

Customers and visitors in the area of the Peakview/South Path intersection will encounter some minor traffic disruption and detours. Customers and visitors will be able to access most of Peakview during this repair, except for the construction zone, from either South Path or Puma Path.

This repair work will commence at 8AM and conclude by 4PM on Thursday 01/30/2020.

UPDATE 1/24/20 Sutherland Place Water Main Break 

Re: Water Main Repaired - Road Open

The City of Manitou Springs Public Works Department completed the Water Main Repairs on Sutherland Place last night. The trench was back-filled immediately after water service was restored and road access was reopened. The Asphalt patch-back repairs on Sutherland will be scheduled in the upcoming weeks contingent on the weather.

The City of Manitou Springs Public Works Department is in the process of turning the water back on to restore service


Customers may experience some aeration or air bubbles in their water, after the water main is recharged. Flushing of all taps within a home for 2 minutes will usually eliminate any air or discoloration in the water lines.

01/22/2020 Water Main Repair Update (2 & 4 Sutherland Place)


UPDATE 5:00 PM

Thanks to the hard work of our Public Works Department, the Crystal Hills Neighborhood water service has been restored to residents in the area. Thank you for your patience while the repairs were in progress and we apologize for any inconvenience which may have resulted from the repair work.

UPDATE

The City of Manitou Springs encountered several broken valves during the repair of the water main at 2 and 4 Sutherland Place and the repairs needed are more extensive than previously thought. Currently, it is estimated that as much as ninety percent (90%) of the Crystal Hills neighborhood is without water. The City’s Public Works Department is on site working to make the needed repairs. Full water service for the Crystal Hills neighborhood is expected to be achieved by 7:00 PM tonight.

ANNOUCEMENT

The City of Manitou Springs will be repairing a small water main break between 2 and 4 Sutherland Place on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. This repair work is expected to take approximately 4 hours, with a potential for water service disruption expected for immediately surrounding properties.

All efforts will be made to keep this repair as brief as possible and will send out another notification once the repair has been completed.

Customers and visitors may experience some minor traffic disruption near this area due to the partial closure of Sutherland Place during this repair. A detour route will be posted with directional signage near the repair site.

01/10/2020 Water Outage behind Eagle & Villa motels


Update as of 8:30 pm: The water is back ON in the 400-500 block of Fountain Place/Manitou Avenue. The leak has been pinpointed to our water main which is inside of, and running through a customers property. 

This repair will take place on Monday as we will have to call in new locates and get permission from the homeowner on the NE corner of Fountain Place and Puma Path. 

The Public Works water department is shutting the water OFF for a short while behind (S of) the Eagle & Villa motels, in the 400-500 block of Fountain Place/Manitou Avenue so the leak detector can pinpoint the leak on the main.

Water Shutoff Valve Replacement at 2 Sheridan Place on 01-02-2020

The City of Manitou Springs will be replacing a failed water service shut off valve at 2 Sheridan Place, on Thursday, January 2, 2020. The water main will have to be shut off to replace this non-functioning valve.

Customers on the following streets will experience water outages during this repair work: Sheridan Place, Grant Avenue, Panorama Place, Lincoln Avenue, and some portions of Floral Path and the upper end of Washington Avenue.

This repair work will commence at 9AM and conclude by 4PM on Thursday 01/02/2020.

Customers and visitors may experience some minor traffic disruption near this address during this repair, and they may also see some aeration or air bubbles in their water, after the water main is recharged.
