WHAT: Open House for the Manitou Avenue Revitalization Project Phase 5C

WHEN: Thursday April 14, 2016 from 4pm to 6:30pm

WHERE: Manitou Springs City Hall - Memorial Hall - 606 Manitou Avenue


Project Summary:

The Manitou Avenue Revitalization Project Phase 5C, which will be very similar to the street revitalization that has occurred on Manitou Avenue between City Hall and Ruxton Avenue, is scheduled to begin construction in mid-October.  Design plans are currently at approximately 30% completion, and the project team will be holding the first project Open House to get input from residents and businesses prior to finalizing the design.

This PPRTA funded project will include the following improvements:

  • one lane in each direction with a center lane
  • new curb, gutter, & sidewalk
  • undergrounding of overhead utilities
  • continued parallel parking
  • enhanced pedestrian crossings
  • paver-brick amenity zones
  • landscaping
  • street trees
  • street lighting
  • benches, bike racks, and trash cans

Project Personalities:

The Engineer on this project is WestWorks Engineering's Chad Kuzbek, and the City's Project Manager is Shelley Cobau, Interim Public Services Director.  Updates will be provided throughout the duration of this project, and you are invited to attend the first Open House to discuss the project in detail in April.
