Library Board of Trustees

The Library Board of Trustees was established in 1985 as an advisory board to the City Council. Specific realms of concern for the Board include formulating citizen requests, informing the public about programs in the library, promoting and conducting educational programs, seeking out grant funds for improvements to the library, assisting in the formulation of a long-range plan, making recommendations on library policies, making recommendations regarding the use of gifts for library use, and requesting the aid of volunteers to implement specific programs and activities.

The Board consists of 7 members, all appointed by the Council, plus 2 non-voting ex officio members—the Mayor (or designated representative) and the Librarian. Board members must be local residents, but they cannot be City employees, members of City Council, or relatives of either group.

Meetings

Library Board meetings are open to the public. The Board meets the 2^nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the Library at 701 Manitou Avenue. Please email the City Clerk if you need special assistance attending a meeting. You can also call 719-685-2554.
