 Description:
 
The Manitou Springs Pool and Fitness Center needs electrical service upgrades from the main service panel to the sub-panels. This project includes:
  • Removal of undersized main disconnect located behind facility in fenced in area,
  • Shifting and mounting of new 600 amperage with CT cabinet main disconnect within the enclosure
  • Installation of outdoor switch-gear 
  • Install 4/0 copper wire from power supply transformer
  • Install new sub-panel in downstairs office and restroom

COMS RFB NUMBER: MS RFP 2019-08

The City of Manitou Springs Public Services Department hereby calls for bids for electrical service upgrade from the main service panel to the sub-panels within the pool and fitness areas. Contractor shall follow the City’s approved protocol and follow the direction of the City’s Public Works Director, or designee in the completion of the following Scope of Services: 
  1. Project will include removal of undersized main disconnect located behind facility in fenced in area.
  2. Shifting and mounting of new 600 amperage main disconnect within the enclosure
  3. Installation of outdoor switch-gear for safe operation of power disconnect
  4. CT cabinet will be installed with a new 600 amperage meter can and meter
  5. All electrical devices, J boxes and breaker boxes will be the lockable NEMA 3 weather proof type
  6. Install 4/0 copper wire from power supply transformer
  7. The new electrical installation will be such that it includes space for future growth of additional distribution circuits.
  8. Install new sub-panel in down stairs office of adequate amperage carrying capacity meeting all NEC code requirements.
  9. Install new sub-panel in restroom adjacent to Pool and Fitness center with adequate amperage carrying capacity meeting all NEC code requirements.
  10. Receive permitting through Pikes Peak Regional Building department.
  11. Environmentally friendly LED light, (with photocell) shall be installed above main disconnect for night operation.
  12. A staging area will be provided but the contractor shall secure the construction zone at all times.
  13. Contractor shall secure all required permits.
  14. Bid shall include a schedule of completion.
  15. Bid shall include a tabulation of all costs.
  16. Bid shall include an estimated completion schedule.
  17. The Contractor is responsible for damages, inside or outside of work area and is encouraged to photo log current conditions and maintain a daily log of progress throughout the project from commencement to completion. Such photo logs and daily log of progress shall be submitted to the City upon completion of each phase.
  18. Prior to start of the contract, the Contractor must attend a kick-off meeting with the City and its representatives.

  • Pre-Bid meeting will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Public Services Facility, 101 Banks Place, Manitou Springs, CO; this is NOT a mandatory pre-bid.
  • Deadline for questions:  September 9th, 2019, email questions to
  • Bids can be submitted electronically to , via mail or hand delivery to 606 Manitou Avenue, Manitou Springs, CO 80829, by no later than Monday, September 16th at 3 PM.
  • Contractor must have a DUNS number.
  • The contractor shall obtain, at his own expense, all permits, licenses, and inspections and shall comply with all laws, codes and ordinances promulgated by authorities having jurisdiction, which may bear on the work.
  • The contractor must provide a copy of State of Colorado’s Contractor’s license
  • The contractor must provide a completed W-9 form including the vendor’s Tax Identification Number (TIN).
  • The contractor must provide a copy of a Certificate of Insurance providing proof that your business carries Worker’s Compensation Insurance.
  • The selected contractor will be required to obtain performance and payment bonds to cover 100%of the project contract amount.
  • Payment will occur via monthly progress invoice, with final payment upon completion/acceptance.
