2nd Annual Board Game Convention

Pikes Peak Gamers invites you to our SECOND tabletop board game convention in Manitou Springs, Colorado! Come join us and unbox the revolution for an incredible mountain gaming experience at the base of Pikes Peak from April 12-14th, 2019. Just like last year's convention, you will enjoy: Gaming as late as you want! Full access to The Vault, a library of over 800 board games A variety of free tournaments Board game bonanza - Flea Market: Buy, sell, trade! Several nearby parks with grassy areas to relax and enjoy outdoor games Restaurants, shops, hotels, and Penny Arcade, all within walking distance.

FAQs

This will be my first board game convention. How does it work?

PPG is honored and excited to have you as our guest for the weekend. The convention doors open on Friday, April 12th at 5:00 PM, and will end on Sunday, April 14th, at 7:00 PM.

Badge holders may come and go from the hall as they please. Each badge holder can check out any game from The Vault and begin playing immediately. Grab some friends, make new ones, teach games you know, or learn new ones...our primary goal is to provide a relaxing and fun space to play quality board games.

Where will the convention be held?

The convention will take place at Memorial Hall in Manitou Springs City Hall, located at:

Is there an age requirement?

Yes, Adults (18+) only on Friday and Saturday.
All ages welcome on Sunday (with an accompanied guardian), however we STRONGLY recommend ages 10+ with a strong interest in board games.

What is "The Vault", and when will it be open?

The Vault is our library of over 800 board games that will be available during the convention. The Vault is open for game check out during the following times:

  • Friday: 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 AM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Games can be checked out overnight, so attendees with multi-day badges can continue the gaming party around town.


How much does the convention cost?

Our pricing structure has improved to offer more options and better value!

Whether you can spend all weekend with us or just one day, we have you covered! Prices listed below are for online purchases. At-the-door badges and t-shirts are $5 more.

  • Full weekend badge - $45
  • Full day badge - $20 (Begin 8:00 AM)
  • Night badges - $15 (Begin 5:00 PM)
  • "Sunday Funday For Familes" Badges - $25 (Includes one adult guardian and one minor, additional adult guardians $15; minors $10)
  • T-shirts - $15 - Must pre-order by March 1st.


Do you have a refund policy?

Yes! Attendees can receive full refunds through Eventbrite up to 30 days before the event start date.

With over 800 boardgames to choose from, how do I pick?

We call our collection "The Vault" and can be viewed by clicking here.


What are my options for lodging?

Manitou Springs has many different hotel & motel options. Please see our webpage for details.


Will there be any vendors present during the convention?

YES! We are excited to introduce vendors this year. We will update our web page as details are finalized, so stay tuned!


Tell me more about the parks and outdoor options for boardgaming?

Directly adjacent to Memorial Hall is Mansions Pavilion which we have reserved all day on Saturday. Across the street is Memorial Park with a large grass area and playground. Both of these locations offer an ideal location for outdoor games.


What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Manitou Springs is conveniently located near I-25, just outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is recommended for flights in and out of Colorado Springs. Taxis, Uber, Lyft, etc. are all available for transportation from COS to Manitou Springs. Once you arrive in Manitou Springs, enjoy the free shuttle service that runs through town. Services such as hotels/motels, restaurants, shopping, and a neighborhood grocery stores are all within easy walking distance from the convention. Rental car service is available from COS if desired. Denver International Airport (DIA) is 70 miles away (~1.5 hour drive) from Manitou Springs, with shuttle service available to downtown Colorado Springs.


What do I need to bring to the convention?

You are only required to bring a copy (digital or print) of your ticket from Eventbrite. Feel free to bring games from your own collection. Food and non-alcoholic drinks may be brought into Memorial Hall.
